Parent Involvement

Parent Association - As Yarralumla Montessori is a unique program in the ACT Education system, the level of parental involvement is very high. An Executive Committee of the Parent Association is elected by the parents to take action on their behalf. Parent Association meetings are held each term. As well as voluntary contributions, fundraising activities are necessary to operate and resource the Yarralumla Montessori Villa.

The Parent Association organises rosters with duties for each Montessori family to fulfil. There is a Cleaning Roster, a Laundry Roster and a Morning Roster. Each family signs up according to the number of children they have at Yarralumla Montessori.

There are also other tasks which parents can assist with from time to time (eg sewing, Garden Bee, watering in the holiday breaks and so on). Applications for enrolment at Yarralumla Montessori are taken from the beginning of Term 1 each year. The main intake consists of 3 year old places but there are also occasional 4 year old placements.

Please ensure you have applied for a 'Working with Vulnerable People' card if you choose to be a regular volunteer in the Montessori Villa. This is free for volunteers in schools.
